The Black Duck Society

One of the many interests of the Black Duck Society is to enjoy the fruits of Sunset Vista Vineyards in Grand Isle Vermont. 

In 2011 Sunset Vista Vineyards planted their first vineyard, for red wines they have Marquette (300) and Petite Pearl (60), and for white wines they planted La  Crescent (120) and Prairie Star (70). They also enjoy some Somerset  Seedless (24) for snacking while working in the vineyard. In 2015 a second vineyard was planted where they have added Marquette (56),  Petite Pearl (48), Prairie Star (20) along with some Frontenac Blanc (20) and Blue Bell (8) for snacking.

In 2021 two additional vineyards became available and are being maintained and harvested by Sunset Vista Vineyards. These vineyards provided a bountiful harvest of Petite Pearl and Marquette. 

From the vineyards everyone can enjoy a beautiful westward view overlooking Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks of upstate New York.                    

Sunset Vista wines are  created primarily from the harvest of 2 small vineyards, established  in 2011 and 2015, in Grand Isle Vermont.

The first harvest was 2014, providing a first taste in 2016. In 2018 came the first wine tasting from the second  vineyard. The wine making experiments have gone well and   Sunset Vista Vineyards is now able to produce enough wine to share with you. The Marquette and  Petite Pearl wines, as well as some trial blends, have been well  received by friends who enjoy a good glass of wine.
